ROCKWOOD, Ontario, March 4, 2019 – On March 4, 2019, Guelph/Eramosa Council approved the Operating and Capital Budget for 2019 with a local tax increase of 2.85%.

As presented, the blended residential tax increase on the tax bill (Township + County + Education) is 2.33%.  This blended property tax increase of 2.33% amounts to $24.04 per $100,000 of assessed property value, of which the Township receives $7.15 per $100,000 of assessed property value.

“This year, the goal of Council and staff was to deliver a steady-as-you go budget that is in line with inflation and focuses on our core services,” said Mayor Chris White. “In 2019, the Township of Guelph/ Eramosa will be making investments in upgrading roads and bridges, installing energy-efficient lighting, working to complete Rockmosa Park and upgrading water and waste water infrastructure.”
