UPDATE Pedestrian Crossovers in Rockwood
September 27, 2019
The School Crossing Upgrades that were scheduled to be completed later today have been delayed. Work began on both crossings earlier this week; however the Ministry of Transportation has not yet given us a new completion date. For the safety of the students and their families, the Township of Guelph/Eramosa has requested that both Crossing Guards remain at their current location (traffic lights at Main St. and Alma St.) until the construction is complete. We are asking parents of children walking to/from school to encourage them to walk to the traffic lights, use the Crossing Guards to cross and follow their instruction. If you have any questions, please contact Loretta Vince in the Public Works Department at 519-856-9596 X. 120 or by email at email@example.com.
The Township of Guelph/Eramosa is pleased to announce the installation of TWO NEW Pedestrian Crossovers on Main Street South and Alma Street in Rockwood. These Pedestrian Crossovers are being funded and installed by the Ministry of Transportation. The Township also commends the Council of the Township of Guelph/Eramosa and Township staff for their ongoing support of this project. The Crossovers will be located on Main Street South at the Waterside Park (south of Bridge Street) and on Alma Street between Church Street and Inkerman, and will replace the current School Crossing; installations will occur mid September. The Township reminds the public to educate themselves on driver and pedestrian safety requirements. More information for drivers and pedestrians can be found here.
