The Township of Guelph/Eramosa has initiated a Housekeeping Amendment to Zoning By-law 40/2016 to address driveway deficiencies within the Noble Ridge Subdivision. The focus of this amendment will be on the width of the driveways, many of which were constructed larger than what was approved by the Township.
What this means for residents of the Noble Ridge Subdivision:
- Residents who have not expanded their existing driveways will be unaffected. This also applies to resurfaced driveways that have not been expanded.
- Residents who have made alterations to their driveways, resulting in a slight or significant increase in size, will need to satisfy themselves that their driveway is no larger than the width of the front face of the garage to a maximum of 6.5m.
The Township will not be pursuing enforcement unless a complaint is filed. Existing enforcement matters will be closed if the proposed amendment is passed and captures the width of the driveway (i.e. the driveway is no larger than the front face of the garage to a maximum of 6.5m).
A Public Meeting to discuss the proposed amendment will be held both virtually and in person on May 6th, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. For information on how to participate, please refer to the Notice of Public Meeting. Any person may attend the public meeting and speak with respect to the application during the delegation portion of the meeting. Note that you do not have to register as a delegate to be able to speak.
