The Township of Guelph/Eramosa dipped into the past and looked to the future with the design of its logo, approved on August 7, 2012.
The Township logo incorporates the importance of the Eramosa and Speed Rivers, both local heritage rivers and major tributaries of the Grand River. These heritage rivers are not only important to this community for their natural beauty and recreational attraction, but they were crucial to the settlement of this area and agricultural uses of the land, which continue today.
The design element of the tree within the logo recognizes the common respect for the natural environment that residents of this community share. Whether they are hiking in scenic parks, planting trees, engaging in horticultural and land stewardship activities, or considering ways to reduce their carbon footprint, residents of Guelph/Eramosa have shown that they place importance on the conservation of our local environment.
