Traffic Calming Pilot Project
In response to concerns about speeding on specific roads and throughout the Township, a Traffic Calming Pilot Project has been launched.
As part of this project, speed humps will be installed on MacLennan Street in Rockwood and Conservation Road between Highway 6 and Wellington Road 38. Speed and traffic data were collected before installation and will be collected again afterward to evaluate the effectiveness of the speed humps in reducing vehicle speeds in these areas. The speed humps will be constructed of fixed asphalt, allowing the Township to assess any potential impacts on snow removal.
The installation on Conservation Road is scheduled for the week of November 4, with work on MacLennan Street planned for the week of November 11, 2024. This pilot project is a proactive step toward improving safety and enhancing the quality of life for our residents.
