  • Be aware of the amount of water your family uses and try to use less whenever possible.
  • Monitor your water bill for unusually high use.
  • Check regularly for leaks and fix them.  Most common leaks are found around faucets and toilets.

Bathroom

  • Consider taking shorter showers.
  • Turn water off while you brush your teeth or while shaving.
  • Consider a high efficiency showerhead.

Laundry Room

  • Wash only full loads in the clothes washer.
  • When buying a new washer, consider a water saving model.

Kitchen

  • Only run your dishwasher when it is full, to make the best use of water.

Outdoor Tips

  • Don't overwater your landscape.  Give plants only the amount of water they need.
  • When washing your car use a bucket and sponge, plus a trigger nozzle instead of a running hose.
